It is more complicated and needs proper maintenance as the dirt deposited on it can lead to roof folder getting out of order.

Inbuilt roof folding: In this type of roof folding there is a panel that moves between interior headliner and roof of the vehicle.

Folding roof folder: The folding roof belongs mainly to western countries and it is made of fabric that gets folded backwards as the roof slides. It needs protection from wax and application of strong chemicals can damage roof folding.

Top mount roof folding is designed by western countries and it includes the feature of noise reduction caused by the wind. It requires regular upkeep and special efforts are needed to make it dust and debris free.

Panoramic roof offers opening that is present in front and well as rear seats of the car.

Removable roof folding opens roofs of the vehicle to window present on the sides of the car.

Electronic or electric roof folding is driven by motor and works by switch system. It is more of automatic roof folding system. The solar roof folding system uses glass that is opaque and it works on solar power. In solar roof folding the load on battery gets decreased.

There is special type of vehicle known as convertible which has special foldable inbuilt roofs in it. The designs of roofs vary but one thing is common6 in all foldable roofs and that is all have adjustable roof top. There are positive and negative features that are associated with roof folding mechanism. The main drawback is that the safety aspect of the vehicle gets lowered down. The roof folding can get damaged due to effect of sun light and rain. As the roof folding works on battery so in case of battery failure it becomes useless.
